My name is Danielle Fisher and I am thrilled to be part of providing quality early childhood education and care is really important to me and I am very passionate about the Montessori Method of Teaching. Montessori is a very child centered approach to teaching, supporting children to reach their full potential within a specially prepared environment.
I have been involved in early childhood for the past 20 years, where I have been a Teacher, Manager and Regional Manager. All these roles have provided me with the knowledge required to be able to move onto the next step in my career as an owner.
Family is very important to me. I am married and my husband Mathew and I have two wee girls Mya and Harper. I love spending time with my family including our German Shepard.
I hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education, Diploma of Montessori Education, a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood) and a Certificate in Leadership.
I love being involved with children because there is nothing more rewarding than watching children grow, develop and progress through life.
I have been teaching at Leaps and Bounds since April 2009 and I hold the position of Centre Manager. I graduated from the Dunedin College of Education in 1993 and since then have taught in Preschools in Dunedin, Christchurch, Australia and England.
I am currently studying towards my Montessori Diploma.
My teaching interests include Behaviour Management, Te Reo Maori, Priority Learners and Working Alongside Parents.
I love coming to work each day, we have a fantastic team of teachers who all bring with them a wealth of knowledge, experience and personality. Not only are we colleagues, we are also friends who support each other both professionally and personally.
At home I have two beautiful children Jake and Eden. Eden attended Leaps and Bounds for 3 years and still incorporates a lot of the Montessori Principles into her daily life and learning.
The aspiration I hold for our children at Leaps and Bounds Preschool is that when they leave us for the big wide world, they are leaving as happy, confident, independent children who have embraced a life long love of learning and that they possess the social and communication skills required to build relationships in any new environment.
Kia Ora, my name is Joanne. I started working at Leaps and Bounds Preschool in February 2009 and have since graduated with a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (ECE) from Te Tari Puna Ora o Aotearoa (NZ Childcare Association) in 2012, and a Montessori Diploma through Aperfield Montessori Trust in 2014. I took an interest in Montessori with my own children’s education, and from this initial interest my passion grew.
I have a love of the natural environment and am passionate about sharing with children the joys and wonderment that nature has to offer.
Hi, my name is Melloney and I started working at Leaps and Bounds in February 2009. I graduated in 2012 from Te Tari Puna Ora o Aotearoa (NZ Childcare Association) with a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (ECE) and hold a Montessori Diploma from the Aperfield Montessori Trust. This provides me with a more in-depth knowledge about the Montessori Philosophy and practical life experiences. I am looking forward to developing this interest further. I am a quiet, nurturing teacher with a hands on approach to learning, inspiring children to become confident and capable as they grow. I believe in taking the time to listen, valuing and respecting children along with their families, creating reciprocal partnerships and empowering children to have a sense of belonging.
Hi, I’m Ashlee and I am part of the teaching team in the Classroom. I started working at Leaps and Bounds Preschool after coming back from my OE in September 2013. I have always been passionate about teaching young children and watching them develop and grow. I love to see how excited children are to try new things and develop into confident and competent learners. I graduated from Canterbury University with a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (ECE) in 2011 and hold a Montessori Diploma through Aperfield Montessori Trust.
As a teacher for many years, I have been involved with teaching communities that span each sector from adults to preschoolers and for the past decade I have immersed myself in the wider Montessori community. I am passionate about empowering others, whether adult or child, and I believe the Montessori philosophy does just that. I began my Montessori journey here at ‘Leaps’ with Melloney, Joanne and Louise and it is wonderful to be working alongside of the Leaps and Bounds team once more. I love to spend time with family and friends and enjoy cooking, walking, fitness training, music and most recently I have joined a local adult ballet class too! I look forward to walking alongside of you and your children over the coming months. Nga mihi Jacqueline
Kia Ora, I’m Libby!
I’ve been working in ECE since 2007 where I studied through Victoria University in Wellington through distance learning, I qualified with my Bachelor of Education in 2011. Since then I’ve worked as a teacher, head teacher and centre manager within the Rangiora community. I live in Woodend with my husband, and our two beautiful children Jordan and Masie. We enjoy going for walks, playing at the skate park, swimming and attending local community events.
I’m passionate about forming strong relationships with families and children, it’s my belief that when children feel safe, loved and cared for their learning flourishes! I am also passionate about making every day fun and exciting, it’s my goal to ensure children have a love of learning that will continue to guide them through the rest of the schooling years.
